I think we put up a good show! I have not seen Superwack this neat and cohesive!! Look at 1:35 - 1:45!! So nice!! I wish that part of the choreography was kept longer though.

YOG @ Bishan Sports Hall - Rhythmic Gymnastics

On 24 August, 10 lucky dancers got a chance to watch YOG Rhythmic Gymnastics at the Bishan Stadium.

We gathered after Dance practice and took a bus to the venue. The venue was very organised and professionally set up. We were on time but realised that most of the spectators got there earlier than us to chope good seats! Nevertheless, all the seats at the stadium were ok.

We were greeted with very enthusiastic supporters and we couldnt help it but joined in the fun. When Team Singapore came out, we screamed at the top of our voices! Our team executed fine chaines and pirouttes and what nots, but was never good enough for the Russians. :( Team Russia was lively and very well-co-ordinated. Their moves also had a higher level of technical difficulty.

Team Singapore standing proudly in front of us as the crowd roared.

My favourite was Team Japan's Ribbon Performance; lots of little surprises here and there and well-executed choreography. No pics of them though, I was too engrossed in the performance.

Ah, the spirit of excellence and sportsmanship is in the air!

Hey guys !! New updates here for the upcoming Dance Buddy Day/Outing!! It's confirmed and there will not be any postpones of trips !!

Who ? - All dancers are welcomed ! But preferably not bringing any outside friends since it's only for BDC and Superwack to bond together .

What ? - Bonding activities are planned by the comittee members , so all you have to do is be there and enjoy with us !!

Where ? - Sentosa !

When ? 25-11-09 (Wednesday)

How ? Please all meet at the Harbourfront MRT control station at 10.30am sharp !

We will only spare 10mins of waiting time , so if you do not appear , that's it , GOOD LUCK , YOU'LL HAVE TO GO YOURSELF WITHOUT US !

Here to inform all of you 2 pieces of information :

1) On the coming Thursday (22/10/09), there will be a dance workshop for all the girls . Please report outside PL at 1.50pm . Please DO NOT BE LATE !!

P.S : Please have a heavy recess before attending because they won't be any break to have any refreshments and this session ends at around 4.50pm . So please have your fill before the dance workshop !

2) A beforehand news , Bowen will be having open house on the 26th of November , Thursday . So please all be prepared to be summon back to school for practices !!

Some comments from me (if it matters):

BDC: Off centre, abit too much to stage right. Centre person must always remember to HOLD THE FORT. Take the clock at the AVA cockpit as your marker. Otherwise, very neat and alot of energy and ATTITUDE. I like...

Superwack: You gotta pack in more punches so that you will look BIGGER on stage. We know its the first time for some of you. Good effort, neat... just the enery part ya? Btw, one of you was peeping by the side curtains when the girls were dancing. DONT DO THAT! We want to focus our attention on the girls first. DOnt think we can't see you. Spot yourself in the video!

Don't mind my squealing in the video, I am so excited whenever I watch you guys do your THING!!

To uphold the spirit of putting up a good performance, Superwack obliged to a mini make-over. Its only 10 minutes of face painting and they showed signs of agony already.
YOu know what, before they can present themselves on stage, the foundation was all on their sleeves! They conveniently wiped off their sweat with their WHITE T-SHIRT!

Long overdue post, I know. But, good things come to those who wait. :)

I had a good time last Saturday watching so many dancers on stage. Its been a long time since I feel like dancing again!! *prances around*

Well, all the teachers agreed that as compared to last Wed's masterclass special performance, Superwack was neater, stronger and more entertaining! Sometimes, its not just the techniques but the stage presence and how you as a dancer elicit responses from the crowd with your moves. I think you guys manage to do just that. Hear it for yourself when you watch the video.

Male dancers are generally rare, so its exhilerating to see so many male dancers together on a stage. I think its in your physique that you are able to pack so much energy into your movements that makes the stage so 'alive'. Very nice. I am dreaming of a day when the guys will do modern dance with the girls on stage.I can dream, can't I? How about some Hip Hop huh? Can we move on to more genres?

I know many are craving to go back for more competitions but we hope you'd be back to help the juniors after graduation. I think we're moving on in the right direction..so STEP UP, STEP UP!!

This item has impressed many. I have received very good reviews of us and I am particularly impressed with Kevin and Jesslyn because they have shown great potential in dance. They did not let the audience intimidate them, they felt the beat and were in total control of the stage.

i know it's tiring, especially after a long day and we still have to dance well plus get scoldings. But if we do well, we won't get scoldings, if we dont get scoldings, we will be happy, and dance will be fun, right?

i remember there were times when everyone were very high and we did a perfect job. Where did the energy go to! haha. What was on my mind just now was, why can the boys do so well when the instructor never scold or really talk to them like how mr ryan did to us. It is because they love to dance. They enjoy it. Therefore they can dance well without the need of being scolded or whatsoever.

I feel that we should really work this together. It will definitely be tough. But if we can really do a good job, there won't be a need for extra practices too. Dance should be fun, not a torture. Everyone is busy, everyone is tired, but if we are willing to put in our effort, i believe we can do it as a team. If anyone have anything to say, speak up, share your opinions too. We must bond man!
